I appreciate a work of art more for execution than idea as a general rule. For instance, if something doesn't have a brilliant, inspired, original idea behind it, but looks gorgeous, I will pretty much always like it more than something with a decent idea that looks like crap. I'm not a big fan of expressionistic art that expresses frustration, that's just too easy and can be used as an excuse for art by people with no talent. If you've got a great idea, it's you're responsibility to express it in the best way possible.
